Why makers pick StarTap over Product Hunt
- No make-or-break day. On Product Hunt, a quiet launch day is hard to recover from. On StarTap your project stays on the board, so you can climb next week or next month.
- Backers don't need an account. Send fans to your project page and they can tap your Star straight away. No sign-up wall between a friend and their support.
- A followed link for verified sites. Prove you own the domain with a meta tag or DNS record and your project page links to you without nofollow.
- Live in a minute. No scheduling, no hunter, no prep checklist. Add your site and it's on the board.
When Product Hunt is the better fit
- Its audience is far bigger, and a top finish can bring press, investors and thousands of visitors in a day.
- If you've built a following and want one coordinated moment, nothing else matches it.
Best of all: you don't have to choose. StarTap is free and takes a minute, so list here today and keep your Product Hunt plans.
About Product Hunt
Product Hunt is the best-known launch platform. Products launch on a set day, the community upvotes them, and the daily ranking decides who gets the spotlight for about 24 hours.
About StarTap
StarTap is a free product directory you play like a game. Makers add their website, tap a Star to earn stars, and spend them on Sources that earn more while they're away. Projects rank on a public leaderboard, every project page links to its site, and anyone can tap for a project they like without signing up.
Frequently asked questions
Is StarTap a free Product Hunt alternative?
Yes. Both are free to list, but StarTap has no launch day to win or lose. Your project stays on the leaderboard and you can climb it whenever you play.
Does Product Hunt give a dofollow link?
At our last check, product links on Product Hunt were nofollow. StarTap links are followed once you verify your domain.
Should I list on both StarTap and Product Hunt?
Usually, yes. They don't compete for the same moment. Add your site to StarTap today, it's live in a minute, and keep it there while you wait for or run your Product Hunt listing.
Is StarTap really free?
Yes. Listing, playing and verifying cost nothing, and there's no paid tier that buys a higher rank. Stars can't be bought.
