How to use the OG Image Generator
- Type your headline and a short line under it.
- Pick a style and add your logo if you like. The image never leaves your browser.
- Download the PNG, upload it to your site, and point og:image at it.
What makes a good OG image
- Big, short text. Most people see the card at phone size. Six to ten words, readable at a glance.
- Say the benefit, not just the name. The card sits next to your post, so it can do some of the selling.
- Keep text away from the edges. Some apps crop the sides or round the corners.
- One per page if you can: a blog post with its own title on the card gets more clicks than a generic logo.
Adding it to your page
Upload the PNG to your site, then add og:image and twitter:card tags with the meta tag generator. Then check the result with the Open Graph checker, which shows how your link will look on each platform.
Frequently asked questions
What size should an OG image be?
1200 × 630 pixels, a 1.91:1 ratio. That's what this tool makes. It works on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Slack, Discord and messaging apps.
Is my logo uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is drawn in your browser and your logo never leaves your device.
PNG or JPG?
PNG for text and flat colours, which is what this tool makes. Keep the file under 5 MB; these images are usually well under 200 KB.
Why does the old image still show when I share?
Platforms cache share cards. After you change the image, refresh it with Facebook's Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn's Post Inspector, or give the image a new file name.
